Mahesh Babu and Tamanna starrer 'Aagadu' has been releasing in as many as 1475-plus  screens Worldwide. No other Telugu flick has got such a wide release before!

There are surfeits of slapstick moments, it's just that the situations aren't as funny and the smarts in the gags are amiss more often than not. The production values barring Shruti Haasan's sexy act in the item number aren't exactly breathtaking and the songs baring Bhel Puri and the title track look better than they sound. There's fun to be had off course but perhaps the end product is more slapstick than funny.

First half of the film is engaging with Mahesh Babu entertainment. Second half should have been better. Plus points of the film are Mahesh Babu and entertainment. On the flip side, it’s verbose and screenplay should have been better. Telugu film industry is slowly getting into Bollywood blockbuster mode where a successful hero - director combination ensures great openings and revenue. The combination of Mahesh Babu and Sreenu Vaitla is enough to guarantee great collections.

He starts off the first half by establishing the plot, but by the time second half begins, Vaitla gets to the job of wrapping up the story and in the process tries to add various inane situations that leave you hoping the film ends ASAP. Given the weak script, Vaitla tries to win over the mass audience by using Brahmanandam as Delhi Suri. But instead of making you laugh, the entire thread leaves you yawning. The only saving grace for the film is Mahesh and a few punch dialogues sprinkled randomly which has now become the trademark of Srinu Vaitla.

There are a few drawbacks in the film, like the hasty climax. There are some forced comedy scenes before the climax as well, where Brahmanandam dances on different songs. In this film you can see the typical kind of Srinu Vaitla treatment of the subject and comedy, so one can predict what will happen next. The first half of the film is full of entertainment, but the director couldn’t maintain the same tempo in the second half.

Second half opens by revealing the actual plot of the movie. Later Srinu Vaitla shifts into his own zone of confusing comedy. Srinu Vaitla should have opted for doing something fresh from this. Instead he chose to play safe, but he couldn't pull it off this timeYou will come out disappointed if you are expecting something on the level of Dookudu. This film is very inferior to it and only works because of Mahesh.

With Aagadu, Mahesh Babu once again proves his super stardom. Right from the word go, it is Mahesh, Mahesh and only Mahesh throughout the film. Even though this film has routine similarities to Vaitla’s previous flicks, entertaining comedy in the first half coupled with some decent music makes this film is an​ ok​ ​family entertainer.
