When you're a girl in India, you have to listen to a lot of people saying a lot of things. Concerned relatives, over-protective parents and patronising elder brothers, everyone's got some saintly advice or the other to help you get through life and be a sanskaari, successful woman. Well how about this? Nope. We are tired of hearing;

1. “Beta! You should know how to cook!"

What they mean: We've started planning for your marriage.

2. “You must know how to tie a sari & get that drape right."

What they mean: You're definitely getting married.

3. “Every girl should get married by 25, no matter what!”

What they mean: You're getting married next week.

4. “ It's not good to hang around with guys all the time.”

What they mean: "What will Mrs. Sharma say?"

5. “Oh! So you're sure you can carry off that short dress?”

What they mean: It appears you have hit puberty.

6. “You look so pretty with long hair!”

What they mean: Get a hair-cut and we'll disown you.

7. “Why are you talking so loudly? You're a lady!”

What they mean: "Mrs. Sharma ke husband kya sochengey?"

8. “Be back by 11!”

What they mean: No boyfriends.

9. “You have become so tan! Why don't you take care of your skin?”

What they mean: "Kal ladkeywaley aa rahey hain."

10. "To whom do you keep speaking to over the phone all night?"

What they mean: We know you have a boyfriend. And we don't like it.

11. "Why are you glued to your phone all the time?"

What they mean: Talking to that boyfriend of yours, eh?

12. " Why are you always so decked up whenever you go out?"

What they mean: Where are your sanskaars?

13. “Ladki jawaan ho gayi hai!”

What they mean: Time to get married.

who spotted this listing, we now know what to expect from Android One smartphones. As speculated earlier, this smartphone is powered by a MediaTek processor and is sporting stock Android UI. Other Android One smartphones from Micromax and Karbonn might have similar set of hardware specifications. Also, Google might have made it mandatory to include the ‘Android One‘ term on the device and in the name of the device, making its name quite a mouthful.

Spice teased its Android One smartphone yesterday, which would be launched exclusively on Flipkart tomorrow. Few hours back Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498, the company’s first Android One smartphone appeared on Flipkart briefly, before it was pulled. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
It comes with 35GB of Google Drive storage,  Spice Cloud app with 10GB of storage and pre-loaded apps such as Reverie Smartpad, Facebook and more.

The Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 comes in black color and is priced at Rs. 6,999. It will officially go on sale on September 15th at 3:30 PM. Karbonn will launch its Android One smartphone on Snapdeal and Micromax’s smartphone would go on sale exclusively on Amazon.in tomorrow.

Price in India
Spice’s Android One smartphone is priced at Rs 6,299. The Redmi 1S, on the other hand, was originally announced for Rs 6,999, but Xiaomi later slashed Rs 1,000 and it now is available on Flipkart for Rs 5,999.
Display
The Redmi 1S is the only smartphone in this price segment to flaunt a HD display. The Android One Dream UNO Mi-498, on the other hand, lags behind with a FWVGA (854×480 pixels) display. As for size, Spice’s Android One smartphone has a 4.5-inch display, while the Redmi 1S has a 4.7-inch display.
Processor
The Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, while the Redmi 1S in comparison is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. Both the processors are paired with 1GB of RAM.
On the storage front, Xiaomi’s smartphone offers double the storage (8GB) compared to Spice (4GB). Both the devices however have a microSD card slot to expand the internal memory.
Cameras
On the photography front, Spice is offering a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. In comparison, Xiaomi has included an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. We will however reserve our judgment on which is the better camera, once we have reviewed the Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498.
Battery
The Redmi 1S has a bigger battery in comparison to the Android One Dream UNO Mi-498. Where the former has a 2,000mAh battery, the latter has to do with a 1,700mAh unit.
Software
This is one department where the Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 wins hands down. As a part of the Google Android One initiative, Spice’s smartphone runs on the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and will also get regular Android updates. Xiaomi’s smartphone, on the other hand, runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Though the company has promised a KitKat update, there is no current timeframe.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S blows the Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 right out of the water. It also has the added advantage of a lower price tag. But where Spice’s smartphone excels is on experience. As one of Google’s partners, Spice’s smartphone runs on stock Android and will also get regular software updates.

Creature 3D Hindi Movie Review

Ratings:0.5/5 Review By: Saurabh Dwivedi Site:India Today
Director Vikram Bhatt thinks the audience is fool and that is why he has tried to sell old story in a new package. 3D effects are also very average. If you have watched this film in theatre then the money that you spent will frighten you till next Friday. Half star to the film for the bravery of the whole team of Creature 3D. After all, it takes days and months to make even a bad film.

The plot revolves around folklore that there are Brahmarakshas—some kind of creatures who are suffering from the curse of Lord Brahma. These half-men, half-animal creatures, according to the film's story, still exist in Indian jungles because they cannot find salvation. The action picks up when the sexy girl and the 10-feet long creature (an amalgamation of Phantom, the ghost who walks, and Steven Spielberg's dinosaur from Jurassic Park) lock themselves in battle.

On the whole, CREATURE is indeed a film which is meant for the masses who yearn for some 'zara hatke' subjects. CREATURE is a good example of what Bollywood is capable of when it comes to vfx heavy films. It surely is a promising start for more sci-fi vfx heavy movies. Fear definitely has a new face. If you want to get spooked and that too in 3D then, CREATURE surely wouldn't let you down.

As you figured out, the story of Creature 3D is as redundant as the role of the palace in Khooni Haveli. The film follows a classic screenplay structure, of Indian ghost films, which means the beginning is also the end, of your mental peace and trust on Bollywood writers. Watch Creature 3D only if you can't sleep without watching a monster movie. Creature 3D gets one for the film, and 0.5 extra for the VFX.

Finding Fanny is not a regular Bollywood film, it's for a very niche audience. To pull this off and make it entertaining is not easy, but it's clear he is an extremely talented filmmaker. If you are up for watching something different then go and watch Finding Fanny, you won't be disappointed.

On the whole, it is commendable on the part of Fox and Dinesh Vijan to have diligently backed this project. With a big name like Deepika Padukone getting associated with this film and then Arjun Kapoor (scoring well at the Box Office) bringing in eye balls too, FINDING FANNY has enough curiosity around it. If you're tired of the nonsensical fare doled out by Bollywood week after week and have a palate for Unusual-Entertainment, then FINDING FANNY will fill your heart with joy.

But, made in a land of Hindi genre movies and starring one of Bollywood’s glitziest girls, Finding Fanny is bold enough already. It gives us much, much to smile pleasantly at, to guffaw at, and one moment that will make the theatre gasp -- before it brings the house down.Drink in the originality and the swiftly economical storytelling.

Finding Fanny is funny, dark, yet bright, a shimmering ride through a Goa far from the tight-rooted Trikal, the touristy Dil Chahta Hai. Its drama keeps surprising - but also meanders, including around an overacting Russian and an unnecessarily macabre cat. It evokes an Almodovar-Anderson-Marquez-in-Goa feel, but occasionally, its cleverness grows obvious while little details - catch the changing colours of Ferdie's petrol can - are overlooked. However, these are small creases on an otherwise scrumptious cake. Move your fanny for this one. For the most part, it is utterly, bitterly delicious

Some of our Bollywood fans (those hungry for masala in theatres) might find the movie a little slow, more so in the first half. Uncoventional in several ways -- from the ending to the catharsis for the characters, the movie might not be 'entertaining' for conventional fans. If Bollywood entertainment masala or love story is what you seek, Finding Fanny is certainly not your pick. If you are up for a slow, light-hearted take on life, love and their philosophies, book your tickets NOW.

A photograph of a police-woman from Kerala has gone viral and given her a big social media boost.

Merin Joseph, the lady in question, is an IPS officer in training, has roots in Delhi, Trivandrum and Hyderabad, according to her Facebook profile.

The attractive 24-year-old has gained a major male following the circulation of her photograph along with the rumour that she was taking over as the ACP of Kochi.

Upset with the rumour, Joseph posted on her Facebook profile that she still under training in Hyderabad. “I am NOT the new ACP of Kochi,” she said. “Still under training in NPA Hyderabad. Will update when I get my first charge in January next year.

Kindly refrain from believing baseless rumours floating in social media.” // Post by Merin Joseph.

According to Deccan Chronicle, Joseph completed her civil services examination in 2012 in her first attempt.

Note: this post is meant for fun, and not to belittle any persons. Nor is it an attempt to make light of the massive effort and dedication needed to become an IPS officer, a profession few women take up. But you were smart enough to know all that, weren’t you?)" />

Best friend, your partner in crime, your escape when times turn adverse, your strength, your weakness and all of the good things and adjectives that the language can encapsulate, it’s not unnatural for you to fall in love with a person you adore and has been with you through thick and thin but what happens after you’ve confessed you love for the person.

Kissing them is weird for the first time, doesn’t matter how long you have been wanting to do that.

Mary Kom   Hindi Movie Review

Ratings:4/5 Review By: Hungama Network Site:Bollywood Hungama
Mary Kom goes on to show the real life story of this sports star, which not many are aware of. The film serves as an eye opener not just on the fact that India can produce international 'gold medal winning' boxers, but also that Manipur is very much a part of India! On the whole, MARY KOM is definitely worth a watch. Go for it.

Ratings:3.5/5 Review By: Meena Iyer Site: Times Of India (TOI)
The filmmaker has captured her indefatigable spirit beautifully. He has also thrown light on the administration's apathy towards sports and every time a film mirrors the red-tapism involved in the arena, you want to pick up the baton! But the main reason why Mary Kom appeals is because it doesn't just give you a ringside view of boxing; it leaves you rooting for our sportsmen who have put India on the world map.

Ratings:2.5/5 Review By: Saibal Chaterjee Site:NDTV
What Mary Kom achieves is just the opposite of what it sets out to: the perpetually-on-the-edge style of storytelling takes the sting and authenticity out of the story of the inspirational rise of the spirited daughter of a Manipuri rice farmer in the world of amateur women’s boxing. But all said and done, Mary Kom is an infinitely better sports film than the bloated mess called Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Ratings:4.5/5 Review By: Lakshmi Negi Site:Rediff
Mary Kom, the boxer has done it many times, but now Mary Kom, the movie, truly packs a punch. Mary's story is that of an underdog's.It is a measured movie, deeply drawing us in with its protagonist, played with immense feeling by Priyanka Chopra. Mary's story is delivered with a sincerity that makes it irresistible.

Ratings:2/5 Review By: Rahul Desai Site:Mumbai Mirror
While Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was a case of an overcooked narrative, Kumar's Mary Kom suffers from the contrary: an inconsistent narrative that seems too hurried to strike the right balance between her personal life and career, and ends up biting off more than it can chew. It could have done with 20 extra minutes of Kom's resilience, without liberally jumping time frames, to give shape to her stunted journey

Ratings:2.5/5 Review By: Shubhra Gupta Site:Indian Express
The film gets bloated by extraneous songs. In its zeal to tell us how Kom is also a committed mom ( to an adorable set of twins , one of whom gets very sick occasionally) as well as a sportsperson, it tries too hard to tug at our heartstrings. And the climactic sequence goes on and on : a duel in the ring is automatically exciting, needing no schmaltzy revving up. There are also too-blatant product placements strewn right through, which distract from the story.

Ratings:2.5/5 Review By: Mohar Basu Site:Koimoi
Mary Kom is not an unbearable film but it is largely unwatchable. It was painful to see the most hardworking sporting star of India being reduced in a film that is a caricaturish blend of Chak De! and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Now that we’re all grown up, we can say, without a doubt, that school was the best phase of our life. What made it more memorable was our teachers- especially the quirky ones, the ones who made us laugh, and the ones who gave us more than just lectures and grades. They gave us training in how to deal with the real world that lay outside our school gates. Seriously, what would our lives be without our school teachers?
Here are a few typical dialogues our teachers uttered in class. These are surely going to send you down memory lane.

1. Why are you making so much noise? Is this a fish market?

2. Why did you forget your homework? Did you forget to eat in the morning too?

3. Why are you laughing? Tell us the joke, we’ll also laugh

4. Do you think we teachers are fools?

Note: Do NOT answer that question. Especially if it’s a yes.

5. If you want to talk, get out of the class. Don’t disturb the others.

The others ARE talking with me. Sigh.

6. Can you speak loudly? Didn’t you have breakfast today?

7. In a Hindi class -> “Hindi mein baat kijiye.”

Ji, masterji.

8. When the entire class laughs at someone asking questions, the teacher goes “There are no stupid questions”

Phew. Now I feel less stupid.

9. (When kids were caught misbehaving) “Is this why your parents send you to school everyday?”

I wish I knew the answer to that one.

10. “Yes, I’m talking to you. Stop looking back.”

Oh, oh. Lag gayi.

11. “If you don’t like to study then why do you come to school?”

I have no idea. Really. None.

12. “You are the worst batch I have ever taught.”

Seriously?

13. “Do you want me to call your parents?”

*Sulks in a corner*

14. “Show me your book. What are you doing there?”

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.

15. “Why are you looking outside? Am I standing there?”

x1

16. “Your sister/brother is so quiet. Why are you like this?”

STOP the comparison. STOP IT.

17. “Okay, be quiet, the principal is coming for rounds.”

x2

18. “Why are you dragging your feet? Are you old?”

*Stands up straight* No, ma’am.

19. “If you study hard in this class, I’ll give you the next period free.”

HELL YEAH.

20. “SILENCE!”

*Real silence*
It is these teachers who made us laugh during school, and made us cry when we bid them goodbye. So, wish all your teachers a very Happy Teachers Day, and let them know what a wonderful example they are setting for generations to come. :)
