I Don't Luv U is a futile exercise in using a MMS controversy as a tool to lure the audience into watching a half baked script, some cringe worthy scenes and performances that look like an audition gone bad. The second half and the climax is full of prudish statements and ridiculous arguments. Performances are strictly average.I Don't Luv U might have the taken up a relevant topic, but its treatment and execution falls flat.

What’s Good: Nothing What’s Bad: Everything. Loo break: Yes. Don’t be too tempted to flush yourself down the drain. This film isn’t worth it! Watch or Not?: I Don’t Luv U is a baseless, senseless, ridiculous nonsense! A director woke up from sleep one fine day and decided to waste his money and energy on this film. Ruslaan flaunts his new pumped up look and still fails. The rest shouldn’t even be mentioned. Go watch the film and punish yourself. It is a sin payback time and you deserve to suffer!

Although long and occasionally indulgent, this documentary is a must-watch, particularly for film buffs, because it's a journey in celluloid, intercut by a wondrous collection of scenes from an encyclopedia of Indian and international classics. Shot on 16mm film stock and by renowned cinematographers, 'Celluloid Man' has a rich feel, in parts nostalgic, in parts contemporary as filmmakers ponder whether Nair's archiving will be taken forward in the years ahead. This is an unusual tribute to a film visionary; if you're a lover of film, I recommend that you make the time for it.

Iron Man 3 reversed the clock and made me into a child again. I clapped. I pumped my fist in the air. I can’t whistle but if I could, I would have made shrill sounds. Basically, I cheered with the uncontaminated enthusiasm of a five-year-old. What more do you want from a superhero movie? Iron Man 3 is popcorn entertainment in the best sense of the word. I’m going with four stars. Go, get a ticket and as always, wait until the end credits are done. There’s one last treat left.

Yet what glorious clanging it is. Iron Man 3 boasts of the headiest of action setpieces, long and spectacular bits of movie wizardry dreamed up by grown men who like pushing their action figures to the limit. A lot of superhero movies look alike now, with increasingly incoherent action populating most of them, but this is a pleasure: these set-pieces feel like big, expansive, boastfully huge splash-pages. The kind of pages, also that don’t really need 3D conversion; I recommend you watch this film without the big glasses. From one True Believer to another, thank you, Shane Black. Iron Man has never soared higher.

Iron Man 3 is funny, engaging, and has some really awesome action scenes. My biggest grouse about the film is its sloppy climax. We have the mandatory fireworks on display, but how about giving a closure or tying the loose ends of the plot before the big guns start blazing? Not only does the last half hour look rushed, but the Stark-Potts relationship deserved better handling. However, Iron Man 3 is a bonafide summer blockbuster that is your ticket to the most entertaining ride of the year so far.

The problem is that once we are invested in these people, Suri doesn’t take the story much further. It becomes over-wrought, repetitive and ultimately, boring. The film however, never becomes more than the sum of its parts. I’m going with two and a half stars. Aashiqui 2 falls into that lukewarm category of not bad. But it could have been so much more.

But The Host makes Twilight seem like The Godfather. This film is staggeringly boring and laughably foolish. Saoirse Ronan is an actress with talent, beauty and a steely intelligence. She strives to imbue this inane plot with emotion but it’s just too tough. When I wasn’t bored, I was laughing. Even die-hard Meyer fans will find The Host tough to sit through. I’m going with one and a half stars. I say bring the vampires and werewolves back!

Until the interval, debutant director Kannan Iyer had me pinned to my seat. There are moments here that made me jump. Konkona is deliciously wicked and at one point, I got so spooked that I closed my eyes. And then, the curse of the second half strikes. The pace slackens, the plot unravels and Kannan’s assured grip on the material loosens. By the climax, Ek Thi Daayan descends into Vikram Bhatt territory – the plot doesn’t stay true even to its own logic. It’s cheesy and simply too silly to scare. Ek Thi Daayan had the potential to be an A-grade horror film but it’s an opportunity lost. I’m going with two and a half stars.
